Hello Readers, Today I canned peaches for the first time. OK, this was my first canning experience.  A little time consuming, but real simple.  Spent my morning canning 1/2 bushel and will be canning another 1/2 bushel tomorrow. They look so yummy in the jars. Can't wait to open them this winter, and enjoying them with vanilla ice cream or just alone. I will use them in a cobbler or another peach dessert. If you haven't tried canning and have been saying I should try this, I would say go for it!!!!  Next will be apples and pears. They are coming in season here soon. I made up 11 quarts to day.  Woo Who!!!!! Happy Canning, Kim

Hello Readers,  It time for a new Food challenge. I enjoyed the 30 day dessert challenge, an exciting journey. The family was definitely tired of desserts by the end.  OK, it didn't  take long for them to be ready for more. :) Thank you all for following the challenge. I hope you follow my new challenges. Homemade Room Air Freshener! I thought this was a great idea, so I decided to try. You will need 1/2 pint canning jars, 1/4 cup baking soda per jar, and 8 or more drops of essential oils.  Fill each jar with soda and oil. Stir together.  Poke holes in the lid for air flow.   Place in a room, shake every once in a while. I have had them around the house for a few days.  I will update, so far so good.
